Standstill In Edo, INEC Officials Delayed
The Edo State governorship election is yet to commence in most parts of the state with the state capital worst affected as at 8.45 a.m.
GWG.ng checks in some of the voting centres revealed that voting materials were yet to be transported and as at 8.45 a.m the materials were yet to be moved from the registration area centres.
Accreditation and voting were supposed to start simultaneously at 8.30 a.m. but at that time of filing this report at about 8.45 a.m. voting materials were still stuck at the Emokpae Primary School in Benin, which is serving as the Registration Area Centre, RAC in Oredo LGA.
Matierials for 21 polling units are supposed to be conveyed from the RAC but polling officials were still waiting and claimed that they were waiting for vehicles to convey them to their units.
Meanwhile, voters are waiting and there is an enthusiastic turn out of voters.
