The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has temporarily paused the collation of results for the Edo State governorship election after announcing outcomes from 16 local government areas.

Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, the Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, declared the recess at approximately 2:10 PM on Sunday.

The collation centre is set to reconvene at 5:00 PM, during which results from the remaining two local government areas will be announced, and a winner for the governorship election could potentially be declared.
