How APC Infiltrated PDP NWC, Caused Edo Election Loss – Dino Melaye
Senator Dino Melaye has once again stirred controversy with a cryptic post on his X handle, predicting a bleak future for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after the Edo State governorship election.
In the post, Dino Melaye hinted at the party’s imminent downfall, noting that the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) is dominated by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who choreographed the loss of Edo.
Melaye wrote: “With the Destroyer called Damagun on the wheels….. PDP is in the departure lounge. Waiting for the boarding pass. Edo experience will be a joke. There are more APC in the NWC than PDP.”
The statement by Dino Melaye comes on the heels of the recently concluded Edo State governorship election, in which the APC candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, emerged victorious over the candidate of the PDP. Melaye, who has had a tumultuous relationship with his party in recent times, used the moment to cast doubt on the PDP’s future.
The former senator has been at loggerheads with the PDP leadership, and his latest comment follows a series of controversial remarks where he declared the PDP “dead” on his social media platforms. This led to his suspension from the party for what was termed “anti-party activities.”
Melaye’s remarks has raised unanswered questions from netizens, with many questioning his loyalty to the PDP, while others believe his statements reflect the deep divisions within the party.
Observers are also speculating about the impact of his comments on the PDP’s internal crisis and the possible repercussions ahead of future elections. Melaye’s vocal criticism and public fallout with the party leadership have become a focal point of discussions within political circles, especially as the 2027 elections approach.
The PDP is yet to officially respond to the assertions of Dino Melaye or even the loss of Edo State. But with tensions rising within the party, it remains to be seen how the leadership will handle the internal dissent.
As the political drama unfolds, Melaye continues to be a polarizing figure, raising questions about the future of the PDP under its current leadership.
