Nigerian filmmaker and actor Mike Bamiloye shared a heartfelt post reflecting on his wedding day, highlighting the challenges he faced and the grace that guided him through.

In a candid message, Bamiloye recounted how he and his wife, Gloria, started their married life with very little financial support.

Bamiloye revealed that when they got married, they couldn’t afford a honeymoon and instead stayed in a rented flat, thanks to the generosity of his sister, who arranged the accommodation. He recalled, “It was my Big Sister that rented the flat for me so that I would not bring my wife to her house.”

He also shared how his best man helped him by purchasing his wedding suit and shirt, ensuring they matched for the occasion. Further emphasizing the support they received, he noted, “It was my Sister-in-Law who graciously bought the shoes and socks that I wore on my Wedding Day.”

The couple faced financial obstacles when searching for a wedding gown. They found a rental shop but needed funds for the deposit. Just when they thought they would have to delay their plans, a sister from their ministry came through with the necessary funds.

Bamiloye reminisced about the registration process for their court marriage, explaining that the required fee of just N170 (approximately $0.50) was beyond their reach at the time. “We could not get the money, so we collected their forms and never returned with it,” he said, indicating that they proceeded with the wedding without a government marriage certificate.

On the wedding day, all the money received went toward settling debts for printed programs and other expenses. Just two days after the wedding, they found themselves broke again, needing to hitch a ride for a drama ministry event in Ilesa.

Despite the struggles, Bamiloye expressed profound gratitude for the grace that sustained them. “But here we are, sponsored by GRACE,” he stated. He also praised his wife, acknowledging that her support has been invaluable and that he is thankful for not marrying someone who would impose unnecessary pressures on him.

Bamiloye concluded his message with heartfelt appreciation: “Glory be to God for GLORIA!” His story serves as a reminder of the power of love, support, and faith in overcoming life’s challenges.
