Chelsea:
Chelsea will still be without captain Reece James due to his ongoing recovery from a hamstring injury. However, manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Romeo Lavia is back in contention after being sidelined with a thigh issue.
Maresca is expected to revert to the lineup that secured victory against West Ham last weekend. Malo Gusto, who returned from injury to play 45 minutes midweek, may retain his spot at right-back. In midfield, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and Cole Palmer are expected to start. Up front, Nicolas Jackson, praised as “the full package” by the coach, is likely to lead the attack, flanked by wingers Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke.

Chelsea’s Predicted Starting XI:
Sanchez; Gusto, Fofana, Colwill, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson

Brighton:
Brighton will be missing key player Joao Pedro, who picked up a knock in last weekend’s match against Nottingham Forest. Other absentees include Matt O’Riley (ankle), Solly March (knee), and James Milner (thigh).

However, Yasin Ayari is available again after recovering from illness, and summer signing Brajan Gruda may make a return to the squad. In midfield, Mats Wieffer will push for a starting spot, while Yankuba Minteh is in contention for a role on the right wing. Georginio Rutter is set to play in an advanced role behind striker Danny Welbeck.

Brighton’s Predicted Starting XI:
Verbruggen; Veltman, Dunk, Van Hecke, Estupinan; Hinshelwood, Baleba; Minteh, Rutter, Mitoma; Welbeck

Match Prediction:
Chelsea 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion

This game promises to be a closely contested encounter, with Chelsea likely to edge out Brighton at Stamford Bridge.
