Former Arsenal and Dundee footballer, Fabian Caballero, has sadly passed away at the age of 46. The Paraguayan-born striker’s death was confirmed by Dundee Football Club in a heartfelt statement released on Saturday.

“All at Dundee Football Club are extremely shocked and saddened this morning to learn of the passing of former Dundee player Fabian Caballero,” the club’s statement read.

“Fabian passed away at the age of 46 and will be greatly missed by everyone at Dundee Football Club. The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Fabian’s family at this very sad time.”

Caballero began his football journey with a brief stint at Arsenal, signing under Arsène Wenger in 1998. However, his time with the Gunners saw him make just three appearances in all competitions.

In July 2000, Caballero found a new home at Dundee, where he became a fan favorite during his time in Scotland.

His untimely death has left the football community in mourning, with many paying tribute to his contributions to the sport.
