How Victor Osimhen Finally Opened His Galatasaray Goal Account (Video)
Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has finally broken his goal drought for Galatasaray in stunning fashion, netting twice in the club’s Super Lig clash against Kasimpasa at the RAMS Park in Istanbul on Saturday.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli during the summer transfer window, had gone three games without scoring a goal for the Turkish champions. However, Osimhen silenced his critics in style, scoring his first goal for Gala in the 20th minute.
Midfielder Abdülkerim Bardakcı delivered a perfect cross into the box, allowing Osimhen to lose his marker with clever movement before calmly slotting the ball into the net to give Galatasaray the lead.
But the 24-year-old wasn’t done yet. Just eight minutes later, Osimhen doubled his tally with a spectacular effort that left fans in awe. Receiving a ball forward from Gabriel Sara, Osimhen trapped it expertly with his thigh, then, with a defender tight on him and his back to goal, produced a brilliant turn-and-strike. The ball flew off the crossbar and into the net, showcasing the Nigerian’s world-class ability.
It was a goal that had all the markings of a reigning Africa Footballer of the Year and further underlined Osimhen’s immense talent.
With this brace, Osimhen’s arrival in the Turkish Super Lig has well and truly begun, and Galatasaray fans will be hoping for many more goals from their star striker as the season progresses.
