Diddy Removed From Suicide Watch
By Benjamin Abioye
Sean “Diddy” Combs is no longer on suicide watch while he awaits his trial for sex trafficking. According to his lawyer, Combs is “focused and very strong,” concentrating on his defense and preparing for the upcoming court proceedings. Combs, who is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, has been able to spend time with his family during his detention.
The music mogul was initially placed on suicide watch after a judge denied his bail following his arrest on September 16. Insiders revealed that the watch was a “preventative measure” as Combs was in shock and his mental state was uncertain. The U.S. Department of Justice defines suicide watch as requiring frequent observation of inmates who may be suicidal.
Combs, 54, was detained after federal authorities executed raids at his homes in Miami and Los Angeles, where they reportedly discovered drugs and over 1,000 bottles of lubricant. He faces multiple charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. The founder of Bad Boy Records has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, expressed that Combs is eager to share his story and described his mindset as “remarkably positive.” This legal trouble comes after Combs’ ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, accused him of rape and sexual abuse in a November 2023 lawsuit, alleging that he forced her into sexual situations with male prostitutes. Although they reached a settlement shortly after the lawsuit was filed, Combs has denied all allegations.
As he prepares for trial, Combs remains determined to fight the charges against him.
