Tragic: Police Inspector Allegedly Stabs Man To Death

A police officer, Inspector Mohammed Bulama serving with the Police Mobile Force in Damaturu, Yobe State has reportedly stabbed a 39-year-old man named Abdulmalik Dauda.
The incident occurred after the two got into a dispute that later escalated into a physical altercation, during which Bulama allegedly stabbed Dauda in the chest.
DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Public Relations Officer of the Yobe Police Command, stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.
The Commissioner condemned Bulama’s actions and expressed his condolences to Dauda’s family, assuring the public that the investigation would be thorough and swift to ensure that justice is served.
The official report revealed that on September 29, 2024, at around 6:20 pm, Inspector Bulama, aged 38, had a heated argument with Abdulmalik Dauda, also known as Baksha, in the Zango Area. The disagreement was related to an unresolved transaction. As the argument turned physical, Bulama allegedly stabbed Dauda in the chest. During the confrontation, Bulama himself sustained head injuries.
Following the altercation, Bulama sought refuge at the ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters, where he was promptly arrested. The state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has begun an investigation, and Bulama remains in custody, awaiting internal disciplinary actions and further prosecution.
The Nigeria Police Force stated that it will not tolerate any form of misconduct by its personnel and emphasized that justice will be pursued in this case to hold the perpetrator accountable.
