Trash! Wizkid Dismisses Davido’s Upcoming Single
By Benjamin Abioye
Nigerian Grammy-award-winning singer Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revived his long-standing feud with fellow artiste David Adeleke, better known as Davido, sparking heated reactions on social media.
The dispute began on Tuesday after Davido announced his first single of 2024, claiming it would be a major hit. Shortly after, Wizkid took to his X (formerly Twitter) page and posted, “P***y boys dropping mid again, una don tire! Make una go rest small!” Although Wizkid did not mention Davido by name, fans quickly interpreted the message as a direct attack on him.
A Davido supporter responded to Wizkid’s post, accusing him of using Davido’s name for attention. The fan tweeted, “So if you no beef @davido your song won’t sell??” In response, Wizkid escalated the tension, saying, “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!”
The exchange did not end there. Wizkid continued to throw shots at Davido, downplaying his achievements and criticizing his music catalogue. He described Davido’s records as “trash,” and bragged about his own musical superiority. “80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop! P***y boys!” he added.
Wizkid’s remarks have reignited the ongoing rivalry between the two music stars, leading to widespread reactions from fans on both sides.
