Man Accused Of Blackmailing Tinubu Hospitalised

A Nigerian man accused of blackmailing Tinubu to resign is being subjected to psychiatric evaluation.

The man who was accused of blackmailing President Bola Tinubu to resign by climbing a 33 kv high tension electricity power tower e in Mayo-Belwa, Adamawa has been admitted into the Yola Psychiatric Hospital.

GWG.ng reports that Abdullahi Mohammed had on Friday, September 27 climbed the electricity tower vowing not to come down unless President Tinubu resigned from office.

Abdullahi Mohammed remained in the electricity tower overnight until locals recruited by the police persuaded to come down.

He was eventually taken into custody after he came down.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command SP Suleiman Nguroje, told Arewa Punch that Abdullahi Mohammed is now undergoing psychiatric evaluation in the Yola Specialist Hospital, towards finding out the prospect of charging him for supposedly blackmailing President Tinubu.

“When the police from the Moyo-Belwa division rescued Abdullahi Mohammed, from the 33kv high tension electricity pole, some hard drugs were discovered on him including green leaves which he confessed to be Indian hemp.”

He added, “The suspect further confessed during his interaction with the police that he takes Indian hemp and other hard drugs. He was behaving abnormal, so we had to take him to the psychiatric hospital for a detailed medical examination. We are still waiting for the medical result before we can take the next action.”

While noting that the actions of the man were suicidal, he said:

“You know attempting to commit su!cide is a criminal offence under our Constitution, so we are going to charge him to court.”
