Controversial Nigerian pastor, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, widely known as Odumeje, has shared a deeply personal account of his troubled past, revealing that he became an armed robber at the tender age of 14.

Odumeje, who grew up in the tough streets of Onitsha, Anambra State, detailed how his environment played a significant role in shaping his early decisions of becoming an armed robber. Raised on Nnewi Street, a dangerous neighbourhood, he recounted how the harsh realities of his surroundings led him down a path of crime. By 14, Odumeje said he became an armed robber and described himself as living “a life of terror.”

According to him, it was his mother’s introduction of the Christian faith that helped him leave his life of crime behind and embrace a new purpose.

“I was born in Onitsha city, No. 3, Nnewi Street, and I grew up in a dangerous street. I became an armed robber at the age of 14. I became a terrorist. Until Jesus Christ arrested me through the help of my mother to change my life. And a destroyer became a saviour,” Odumeje said in the video.
