Nollywood star Toyin Abraham has addressed allegations made by a fashion designer, @stitchesbyandra, accusing her, along with Annie Idibia and Gabriel Anthony, of owing a significant debt.

The designer claimed that Toyin Abraham and the other stars had failed to settle a debt running into millions of naira for over a year.

The accusations were first made public via Instagram, where @stitchesbyandra expressed frustration over the alleged non-payment, stating, “@toyin_abraham @annieidibia1 @gabrielanthonys, my patience is running out already. 1 year and 2 months. How can you be with someone’s millions and feel so reluctant?”

Toyin Abraham swiftly responded to the debt allegations on Friday night, denying any involvement in the debt and providing clarification on the situation. According to Toyin, the misunderstanding stems from a mix-up involving a third party.

In a detailed statement posted on her social media, Toyin explained that during the production of her movie Malaika, the team needed dresses for a runway scene. Gabriel Anthony, who was part of the team, introduced the designer to provide some of the dresses. Toyin Abraham noted that she had no direct dealings with the designer and had returned the borrowed outfits to Gabriel after the shoot and as such had no debt on her head.

Toyin also shared that she purchased a hairpiece from the designer, for which she paid in full, but the dresses in question were only borrowed and subsequently returned to Gabriel, who passed them on to someone else.

“I even bought a hairpiece from her, for which I paid in full. As for the dresses she provided, they were borrowed for the shoot, and once we finished using them, I handed the dresses back to Gabriel, who had initially brought them to us,” Toyin explained.

After seeing the allegations, Toyin said she immediately reached out to Gabriel, who confirmed that the dresses had been returned to him and later borrowed by another party. Toyin emphasized that this matter no longer involves her and expressed disappointment at being dragged into the issue.

To further clear up the confusion, Toyin Abraham promised to share screenshots of the conversation between Gabriel and the designer as proof that she had no debt on her head due to the designer.

In conclusion, Toyin thanked her fans for their support and reiterated that she values her reputation and transparency in all her business dealings.
