Popular social media activist, Verydarkman, has called out the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, urging him to prioritize addressing the challenges in Abuja rather than meddling in the affairs of Rivers State, where he previously served as governor for eight years.

In a video posted social media, Verydarkman highlighted the poor state of infrastructure in a part of Abuja, drawing attention of Wike to a dilapidated road.

VeryDarkMan used the opportunity to appeal directly to Wike, asking him to focus on his responsibilities in the FCT and leave Governor Siminalayi Fubara to handle the governance of Rivers State.

“Minister Wike, your job is here in Abuja. Rivers State is no longer your responsibility after your eight-year tenure. Focus on fixing Abuja’s roads and other pressing issues rather than interfering in Rivers politics,” Verydarkman stated in the video.

His comments come amid ongoing tensions in Rivers State, with accusations that Wike is attempting to influence the state’s political landscape even after stepping down as governor in May 2023. Wike’s successor, Governor Fubara, has publicly appealed for peace and called on his predecessor to allow him to govern the state without interference.

The message of Verydarkman has since gone viral, with many netizens sharing their support for his stance, emphasizing the need for Wike to concentrate on fulfilling his duties as the FCT Minister and leave Rivers State matters to the current administration.

As the FCT grapples with infrastructural challenges, social media voices like Verydarkman continue to call for accountability from public officials to ensure that those in power are held responsible for improving the lives of citizens within their jurisdictions.
