Why Tinubu’s Supporters ‘Fear’ Obi More Than Atiku
A debate has broken out on social media as to why supporters of President Bola Tinubu are particularly troubled by criticisms from Peter Obi and more tolerant of even harsher denunciations by Atiku Abubakar.
The debate was stirred by X user Adémùyíwá Ọba who observed that Tinubu’s supporters had been largely calm to the recent censure of the president on the fuel price hike by Atiku. He said that the Tinubu supporters would have been less tolerant if the criticism had been articulated by Peter Obi.

The post has quickly gained traction with many users chipping in on why they think that the Tinubu camp is particularly touched by criticisms from Peter Obi.

They all know Peter Obi won the election that’s why they were unleashed to attack him to divide his followers using tribalism
An explanation came from an X user who said that Atiku’s criticism was not ethnically coloured.
Opeyemi Oluborode Fk @Fikayomii_
He called him that and that’s okay. He’s a holder of a public and the highest office in the country. Anyone occupying that know what they were going into. His tribe was not brought into it . This your narrative no gel sir.
Akposieyefa @Orutu_AW
Atiku should hide his face. If he really concerned about Nigerians, as the main opposition leader he would have staged a peaceful protest @OfficialPDPNig is just so useless to be called an opposition party
