Tinuade Ladoja, the wife of former Oyo State governor, Rasheed Ladoja is dead.

She passed away on Monday morning after a brief illness.

The Celestial Church of Christ, Ikeja Parish 1 Cathedral, where she worshipped, confirmed the demise of the former governor’s wife in a heartfelt message shared on Facebook: “It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. We submit to His will. #farewell.”

A prominent figure in the Celestial Church of Christ, Tinuade was an influential member of the Pastor-in-Council, the highest decision-making body of the church.

Her death has left many in shock, as she was active in her church community and known for her leadership within the Women’s Council.

According to Olukoya Benjamin, Head of the Media unit of the parish, Tinuade Ladoja was taken to the hospital after feeling unwell two days prior. “She still ate yesterday, but sadly passed away earlier this morning,” Benjamin said. He further noted that she had recently received an award in recognition of her contributions during the church’s 40th anniversary celebration.

Victoria Omodudu, Chairperson of the Celestial Church Women Council, expressed her grief in a tribute: “Aunty mi, Egbon mi, this is beyond me. I visited you on Saturday, October 5, 2024, and you were hale and hearty. God, please take control.”

Tinuade Ladoja’s passing marks a great loss to her family, church, and the wider community, where she was admired for her dedication and service.
