Popular skit maker and actor Adebowale “Debo” Adedayo, known as Mr. Macaroni, has spoken out about the controversy regarding a reenactment of his famous “Daddy Wa” skit. A video featuring children imitating this skit has gone viral on social media.

In the video, the children dressed in adult clothing acted out roles similar to those in Mr. Macaroni’s skit, portraying his sugar daddy character, a young woman, and his wife. However, many online users criticized the video, claiming it was not suitable for children.

In response, Mr. Macaroni took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his concerns. He urged parents and guardians to be careful when involving children in creating content.

He stressed the need to showcase children’s talents in a manner appropriate for their age, emphasizing the importance of their well-being and proper guidance over gaining online attention.

His statement read: “Dear parents and guardians, I understand the urge to want to make the most out of our uniquely talented children. I, however, strongly believe that we must apply caution while doing so. We must showcase their talents in ways appropriate for their respective ages. We must put our children first and groom them right. That way, we are able to develop the durability and longevity of their talent as opposed to a short viral moment. We owe them and our society that guidance. My love always.”
