The Lagos State Police Command is searching for a man named Ganiyu Ibrahim, who is on the run after allegedly stabbing his cousin, Afeez Akeem, to death.

According to police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the incident occurred after a dispute between Ibrahim and Akeem escalated into a fight. During the altercation, Ibrahim reportedly broke a bottle and stabbed Akeem in the chest.

Hundeyin confirmed that Ibrahim fled the scene immediately, and detectives were mobilized to investigate. “The suspect is at large. Investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend the fleeing suspect,” he stated.

The family of the deceased has chosen not to conduct an autopsy, opting instead for burial according to Islamic rites.

Ganiyu broke a bottle and stabbed Afeez on the left side of his chest. The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.”
