Alleged Affair With Commissioner: Husband Drags In 2 Governors Amid Cover-Up Claims

The husband of a woman named Tasleem, Nasiru Buba, has accused her of having an affair with Auwalu Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa State.

Nasiru is worried that his marriage is at risk of falling apart and has appealed to the governors of Jigawa and Kano states to help save it.

Nasiru has also urged the two governors not to give in to pressure from those who want to stop the investigation. Speaking to reporters in Kano on Tuesday, Nasiru shared his concerns, explaining that the case has been with the police for almost two weeks. Hisbah, the religious police force, is aware of the situation, and the case was recently redirected to the AIG Zone One office for further investigation. He fears that these actions may indicate attempts to cover up the case.

He said, “Let me say categorically that this case has been with the police in Kano for the last two weeks, and they have effectively investigated it. Hisbah is also aware of the case; therefore, all I need is for the governors of Jigawa and Kano to help me ensure that justice is done in this matter.”

Nasiru also responded to accusations made by his wife’s lawyer, who claimed that Nasiru divorced Tasleem a long time ago and mistreated her, even firing gunshots during their arguments. Nasiru strongly denied these allegations, saying that Tasleem is still his wife and that they live together. He also insisted that he does not own a gun.

He said, “This lawyer has seriously lied against me because, in the first place, Tasleem is still my wife, and she lives in my house. In the second place, I don’t have a gun, let alone firing it during our disagreements.”

Nasiru urged the lawyer to retract these false statements immediately, warning that he would seek legal action to defend his name if necessary. He also pointed to recent photos of himself and his wife celebrating Eid Kabeer together, disproving claims that they were divorced. He further explained that the car Tasleem was found with belongs to him and was purchased just two weeks ago.

He said, “The lawyer lied that I divorced my wife two years ago, but our recent pictures showing myself and her in my house celebrating Eid Kabeer debunk that insinuation. The car she was caught with is also my personal car, which I bought not less than two weeks ago. So what is he talking about?”
