The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the 2024 CAF Awards will be held in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16, 2024.

GWG.ng reports that these awards celebrate outstanding achievements in both club and national football, highlighting the CAF African Player of the Year titles for both men and women.

The final list of nominees for Africa’s Best Player has not been revealed yet, but several well-known players are expected to be nominated for this prestigious award. Notable candidates include Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, and Morocco’s Brahim Díaz, all of whom have shown impressive performances this year.

Currently, the men’s African Footballer of the Year title is held by Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who continues to shine in both club and international play. In the women’s category, the title is held by Nigerian star Asisat Oshoala, who has also had a remarkable year on the pitch.

CAF has not yet shared the exact start time for the ceremony, but more details will be provided soon. This will be the third year in a row that Morocco hosts this important event, following last year’s successful celebration of African football.

Marrakech, known for its rich culture and vibrant tourism, will again be the venue for honoring excellence in African football at the CAF 2024 awards.
