Tragic: 14-Year-Old Stabs Police Officer To Death

A tragic event unfolded on Thursday night in Bosanska Krupa, Bosnia, when a 14-year-old broke into a police station, fatally stabbing one officer and injuring another, local authorities reported.

The incident took place in Bosanska Krupa, which is about 300 kilometers (186 miles) northwest of Sarajevo, according to Ramo Isak, the interior minister for Bosnia’s Bosniak-Croat federation.

“One officer is dead and the other is wounded,” Isak confirmed.

Adnan Beganovic, a police spokesperson, told national broadcaster BHRT that the injured officer remains in critical condition.

The young suspect, reportedly born in 2009, has been arrested, with prosecutors now investigating the incident. The motive behind the attack is still unknown, as reported by AFP.

“This is very sad,” said regional police chief Adnan Habibija. “What surprised us is that it concerns a minor aged 14 who dared attack officers in a police station. It’s an alarm bell for our society.”

The town’s mayor, Armin Halitovic, expressed his dismay, noting that Bosanska Krupa, home to around 11,000 people, is generally known for being a calm and accepting community.

“We are a peaceful and tolerant town,” he stated.

In light of the attack, authorities have increased security measures across the area.
