Photos: Peter Obi Concludes North American Tour

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has completed his U.S. tour. His tour, which began on October 24, covered three cities over three days.

The visit was part of his ongoing engagement with Nigerians abroad and aimed to rally support for his vision of a new Nigeria.

In a statement from Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR), signed by Ibrahim Umar, the tour was described as the final part of Obi’s North American Appreciation Tour. This final leg took him to Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; and Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to this, Obi had visited other cities, including Toronto, Canada; Boston, New York City, Dallas, and Detroit.

On Sunday, Obi posted on X, sharing that he had completed the tour. He thanked the Nigerian diaspora in North America for their ongoing contributions to Nigeria and their support. Obi’s message read: “Yesterday, I concluded my North America Thank You Tour with an Open Forum with the Nigerian diaspora in Atlanta, Georgia, joined by some Georgia State Legislators.”

Obi emphasized his commitment to a “New Nigeria,” envisioning a country with strong institutions, rule of law, and equal opportunities for all. He stated: “I envision a Nigeria built on merit, where individuals are lifted from poverty, regardless of their background.”

Concluding his message, Obi thanked the diaspora community for their dedication to Nigeria and encouraged them to remain engaged. “Our collective efforts will bring about a new Nigeria that is POssible,” he affirmed.
