The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State, Mrs. Susan Gbemisola Alabi, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Alabi stated that her move to the APC resulted from “irreconcilable differences” with SDP’s governorship candidate, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye.

Alabi was warmly received into the APC by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is also the APC’s candidate for the upcoming governorship election on November 16. Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed her during a campaign tour in the Akoko North West Local Government Area.

During his remarks, Aiyedatiwa assured the community that the 2025 budget would be structured to benefit all areas of Ondo State. “The 2025 budget will be well-structured to guarantee that every area of Ondo State benefits from development initiatives,” he stated, noting planned improvements in infrastructure and services, especially in Akoko North West.

The governor expressed his appreciation for the support he has received from local leaders. Representing 27 traditional rulers in the area, Oba Olasehinde Ojo Adetona, the Owa of Ogbagi, promised full backing and a strong voter turnout for the APC in the upcoming election.

At the event in Oke Irun, Governor Aiyedatiwa encouraged APC supporters to stay united and work together to secure the party’s victory. He shared that his campaign route, which included many key areas within the local government, allowed him to connect directly with community members and understand their needs.

The campaign’s positive momentum continued in Oke Agbe, the headquarters of the local government, where Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s focus on areas like security, infrastructure, and agriculture. He assured residents that these priorities would guide the government’s plans for future development.
