Tragedy Strikes As Building Collapse In Ibadan Claims Ten Lives
Ten people have been reported dead after a building collapsed in Jegede Olorunsogo, located in the Ona Ara local government area of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
GWG.ng reports that Rev. Akinyemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of Oyo State Fire Services, confirmed the tragic event to the press
Akinyinka shared that they received distress calls from local residents around 2 a.m. He noted that seven people were rescued alive from the debris of the collapsed structure.
“May I inform you that Oyo State Fire Services Agency received a distressed call at around 2 a.m. this morning at Jegede Olunloyo area, Ibadan, of which 10 persons have been recovered from the debris of the collapsed building, while 7 persons were rescued alive,” he said.
He added, “Rescue operation is still going on. I thank you.”
