A Nigerian man has reportedly been sentenced to three months in jail following his arrest by police for simply sitting outside his home, sparking widespread outrage on social media.

The incident first surfaced in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), capturing attention for its unusual and harsh nature.

According to initial updates shared by the man, he was arrested without explanation while sitting outside his house in the Ilaje area of Lagos. He managed to alert his followers before being forced to delete the tweet. One of his followers, who saw the message before its deletion, located him at the police station to offer support.

Providing an update, the follower tweeted, “He was arrested last night and has been forced to delete the tweet. They’re taking him to court for reasons that are unclear. Please let’s tag the police because this is not good.”

Despite the plea for public attention, the situation took a surprising turn.

In a heartbreaking follow-up, the supporter announced that the man had been sentenced to three months in prison. “He has been sentenced to three months in prison 💔💔💔💔,” the post read.

The story has since ignited discussions across social media platforms, with concerned users questioning the reason for the man’s arrest and condemning the severity of the sentence. Many are calling for accountability and clarity on what appears to be a case of excessive punishment.
