Top Govt Official Detained As S3x Tapes With Prominent Women Emerge
The Director-General of the National Financial Investigation Agency in Equatorial Guinea, Baltasar Engonga, has been arrested on allegations of recording over 400 intimate videos with high-profile women, including the wives of prominent figures in the country.
This scandal came to light during a fraud investigation against the 54-year-old economist, leading to an unplanned search of his home and office by agency officials. During this search, numerous CDs were found, revealing recordings of Baltasar Engonga with various married women.
The videos reportedly include encounters with close relations and prominent figures in Equatorial Guinea, such as his brother’s wife, the president’s sister, the police chief’s wife, and wives of several ministers. These recordings, many of which reportedly took place in his office, were said to have been consensual, though their recent online leak has caused a significant public outcry.
According to local media outlet ‘Ahora EG’, Baltasar Engonga, who is also known by the nickname “Bello,” has been embroiled in a highly publicized scandal since October. Many of the scenes show him with women of influence, including both married women and notable single women.
Some videos even depict encounters in hotel rooms and his office, often in the presence of national symbols like the flag of Equatorial Guinea.
The Attorney General of Equatorial Guinea, Nzang Nguema, commented on the scandal, noting that although the videos suggest that the women involved were not coerced, the country’s laws do not regard consensual acts as criminal unless force or violence is used.
Nguema emphasized, however, that the impact of these actions goes beyond legal boundaries, highlighting health concerns related to potential transmission of diseases and urging victims to report cases of coercion or assault.
In response to the revelations, Equatorial Guinea’s government has swiftly moved to suspend all officials involved in inappropriate activities within government offices. The Vice President, Nguema Mangue, emphasized that the administration has a “zero tolerance” stance on behavior that undermines public service integrity. He added that respect and ethics are core values of the administration and that actions jeopardizing public trust will not be tolerated.
