A group Peace and Good Governance Advocates, PEGA has congratulated the new minister of Humanitarian Affairs Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda on his appointment but also tasked him to avoid the banana peels around the office.

The group, while congratulating him, nevertheless cautioned the new minister to be mindful of the circumstances that led to the exit of the immediate past ministers that held the portfolio.

The group in the statement issued by its national coordinator, Mani Immam, also charged members of the All Progressives Congress, APC on the plateau not to put unnecessary pressure on the minister who was the immediate past governorship candidate of the party in Plateau State.

In the caution the group charged Plateau APC stakeholders against leading or putting pressures on the minister in a way to lead him into temptation.

The group said:
“We are pleased to applaud President Bola Tinubu on the appointment of Dr Nentawe Yilwatda as the minister of Humanitarian Affairs as by the appointment the president has heeded the cries of Plateau stakeholders to fill the position of Plateau in the federal cabinet.

“We also congratulate the new minister over the appointment and we are trusting that he will perform his duties with all grace.”

While cautioning the minister not to fall into the trap of his immediate predecessors, PEGA said:

“We, however, are bold to charge the new minister to be on his guard seeing the fate that befell his predecessors and we call on him to make Plateau proud by living above board.”

The group also called on members of the APC on the Plateau not to put unnecessary pressure on the former governorship candidate in a way to distract him or lead him to evil.

“We particularly call on political actors on the plateau not to put pressure on the minister in a way to lead him into temptation. Political actors should remember that the minister has put his 2023 governorship election loss behind him and is focused on his present job. They should as such allow him focus on his present job until the next round of elections approaches,” the group said.
