Liverpool Leverkusen 4-0

Liverpool put on a commanding performance at Anfield, securing a 4-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in their latest UEFA Champions League fixture.

The match was largely shaped by a brilliant hat-trick from Luis Díaz, who found the back of the net in the 61st, 83rd, and 90+2′ minutes. Cody Gakpo added a second goal for the Reds in the 63rd minute, with Díaz providing the assist for his teammate’s header.

The first half saw few chances, with both teams struggling to break the deadlock. However, Liverpool found their rhythm after the break. Díaz’s opening goal in the 61st minute came from a well-timed through ball by Curtis Jones, and just moments later, Gakpo doubled the lead following a cross from Mohamed Salah, with the goal confirmed after a VAR review.

Leverkusen, despite several attempts, couldn’t find a way past Liverpool’s defense, with standout saves from Reds keeper Alisson. The German side’s best chance came through Florian Wirtz and Patrik Schick, but they were unable to trouble Liverpool’s defense significantly.

Díaz capped off the match with a stunning finish in the 90th minute, completing his hat-trick and sealing all three points for Jürgen Klopp’s side. The result sees Liverpool remain perfect in the group stage with a 4-0-0 record, while Leverkusen suffers their second loss in the competition.

With this victory, Liverpool consolidates their position at the top of Group B, looking poised to advance into the knockout stages of the Champions League.
