Okpebholo Sacks Obaseki’s ‘Foreign’ Perm Secs, Heads Of Agencies
Governor Monday Okpebholo has announced the sack of all executives of all boards, agencies and parastatals in the Edo State public service with immediate effect.
In addition, the new governor has also sacked all permanent secretaries appointed from outside the Edo State public service by his predecessor, Mr Godwin Obaseki.
GWG.ng reports that the decision to sack the permanent secretaries brought in from outside the civil service by Obaseki was on Wednesday hailed by a prominent civil servant who bemoaned the practise of the former governor in bringing in experts as so called from outside the system and at the same time stifling the growth of career civil servants.
Announcing the decision, Mr Fred Itua, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor said in a statement:
DISSOLUTION OF BOARDS AND POLITICAL APPOINTMENTS:
