Psquare Feud Escalates As Legal Battles Intensify
The longstanding tension between Nigerian music duo Psquare has reignited, with Peter Okoye, also known as Mr. P, revealing that his twin brother, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), has reached out via a lawyer in an attempt to have Peter’s latest song, “Attention,” removed from all music platforms.
This new dispute has brought their sibling rivalry back into the public eye, sparking a fresh round of controversy.
The conflict began after Peter released his single “Attention,” which Rudeboy claims was sampled from his own unreleased album, scheduled for release in June 2025. In response, Peter took to Instagram to address the backlash and refute his brother’s allegations. He stated that he has evidence to support his rights to the song, dismissing Rudeboy’s claims of ownership.
In his post, Peter addressed critics who labeled the feud as “childish,” defending his right to speak out. “Call us names, call us childish; it is fine. I understand, but anyone that says anything false about me and I have evidence, then I have a right to defend myself,” he wrote.
Peter also questioned Rudeboy’s involvement in the songwriting process, tagging the co-writer, @calypso60music, and challenging Rudeboy’s claim of ownership. “You claimed you wrote the song and you didn’t know any @calypso60music. Then how come @calypso60music and I are now telling you what to sing?” he continued.
In a pointed statement, Peter confirmed the legal action taken against him by both Paul and their older brother Jude Okoye, stating, “Jude and Paul, written through a lawyer, are doing everything possible to take the song down from all music platforms. But I will fight to the end.”
Reaffirming his stance, Peter concluded with, “With my full chest! @calypso60music and I wrote ‘WINNING.’”
This latest episode in the Psquare saga has left fans divided, as the public watches to see how the brothers will navigate their ongoing dispute over music rights and creative ownership.
