Mike Bamiloye Mum As Popular Mount Zion Actor, Baba Gbenro Dies
Veteran gospel film actor and producer Moses Korede Are, best known for his role as Baba Gbenro in the Mount Zion series “Abattoir,” has reportedly passed away.
Fellow gospel actor and producer, Oluwaseun Adejumobi, shared the news on his verified Instagram account on Thursday.
Adejumobi wrote, “Heaven’s Gain Again. A General Has Gone to Rest.”
Baba Gbenro, as fans fondly called him, was a prominent figure in “Abattoir,” one of Mount Zion’s most popular series. Reports indicate that he died at the age of 65 after a prolonged battle with liver disease.
As of the time this report was compiled, Pastor Mike Bamiloye, the president of Mount Zion, had not released any statement to confirm the actor’s passing. Additionally, Baba Gbenro’s children, who are also involved in the group’s productions, have not made any public comments regarding his death.
Moses Korede Are was the founder and International President of Calvary Movies Drama Ministry, located in Ogbomoso, Nigeria. This ministry, established on September 2, 1995, aimed to spread the gospel through drama evangelism and create impactful Christian messages.
He also served as the CEO of Calvary Movies Television, an online platform dedicated to showcasing Christian drama and evangelistic content.
Baba Gbenro worked alongside notable Christian film actors, including Toluwalope Israel Adegbo and Evangelist Damilola Mike Bamiloye, contributing significantly to various Christian film productions. He was especially known for his memorable performances in the Mount Zion series “Abattoir,” where he embraced the role of Baba Gbenro.
