Okpebholo Opens Up On Dead Mystery Bat On His Bed
Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has shared the testimony of how his emergence as governor flowed from the grace of God, the prayers of supporters, and the unwavering backing of the Edo people.
In a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, Okpebholo shared his testimony at his post-inauguration Thanksgiving Service held at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. Addressing a large gathering of supporters, religious leaders, and dignitaries, Okpebholo encouraged Nigerians to put their faith in God, no matter their challenges.
Governor Okpebholo gave a vivid account of a mysterious experience just before his victory was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). According to the governor, he discovered a dead bat on his bed in the days leading up to the election. “After the election, on Sunday morning, I came to my room and found a dead bat on my bed—without shooting any arrow. But the Spirit of God was there. The hand of God delivered me,” he said, attributing the incident to divine protection.
Reflecting on his election campaign, Okpebholo contrasted his approach to that of his critics, who he said relied heavily on social and broadcast media while he focused on prayer and devotion. “They were busy operating from television and social media, but I took the battle to God because I knew the secret,” he stated.
Okpebholo while sharing his testimony said that he did not seek guidance from any native doctors, prophets, or spiritual diviners during the campaign, choosing instead to rely solely on his faith.
The Thanksgiving service brought together notable politicians, musical artistes, and clergy, all joining in the governor’s expression of gratitude and commitment.
