Chidimma Quits Pageantry, Relocates To Nigeria From S/Africa

Chidimma Adetshina, the 1st runner-up at the 73rd Miss Universe competition and the titleholder of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, has announced her decision to quit pageantry.

During an interview with Silverbird TV, Adetshina shared that her experience in pageantry had been traumatic, revealing that she considered quitting during the Miss Universe contest.

Adetshina explained that her decision to step away from the industry is for personal reasons. She also plans to relocate to Nigeria from South Africa, her current residence, to focus on her personal growth and further her education.

Reflecting on her journey, Adetshina expressed surprise at her high placement in the competition, calling it a “shocker.” Despite her success, she emphasized her need to move forward, saying, “I’m really done with pageantry. I want to focus on myself and establish who I am.”

The model’s rise to fame included winning the Miss Nigeria title after withdrawing from the Miss South Africa contest due to controversy surrounding her nationality.

Her journey culminated in a stellar performance at the Miss Universe competition held in Mexico.

GWG.ng reports that besides the Enugu State Government that has been quite supportive of Chidimma Adetshina that many other Nigerians will be welcoming her as she relocates from South Africa to Nigeria following her decision to quit pageantry.
