Barrister Jesutega Onokpasa, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC and member of the party’s presidential council, has vowed to reject any appointment from President Bola Tinubu following his the appointment of Dr Daniel Bwala as a special adviser.

Speaking on Arise News Television on Thursday night, Onokpasa said that he had lost complete trust in President Tinubu over the appointment given to Bwala, a man he said ridiculed the president and the campaign over his insinuations during the campaign.

Onokpasa further averred that Tinubu had also failed to show sympathy with the downtrodden in the face of the harrowing economic situations facing the citizenry. He said that based on the disappointments that groups aiming to stop the president in 2027 from a second term have already started meeting.

“Asiwaju has gone too far, he has insulted us enough, he has insulted us too far, this one will not be allowed. It is an insult to all our party supporters,” Onokpasa said even as he went on to say that the president has ignored supporters from the Niger Delta, Southeast and the Fulani who campaigned for him.

Affirming that he will not accept any appointment from President Tinubu based on the increasing gaffes, as compounded by the appointment of Bwala, Barrister Onokpasa said:

“If he gives me an appointment I will reject it, I don’t trust him anymore. Asiwaju gives us the impression, his core supporters BATists that he can stab us seriously in the back anytime.

“Asiwaju has pushed us to the wall and he does not realise that people are regrouping, people are angry” he said as he warned that the president would suffer for his decisions in 2027.

Beyond the appointments, and Bwala, Onokpasa said that President Tinubu appears disconnected from the sufferings of the populace.

Onokpasa said that the stance of the president was really surprising given what he claimed as Tinubu’s generosity and love for people. He was, however, quick to assert that he has never benefited personally from the president’s acclaimed generosity.
