Chelsea secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, November 23, 2024. The win helped extend their recent unbeaten run in the Premier League.

The match began with Chelsea on the front foot, and it didn’t take long for them to make an impact. In the 15th minute, Nicolas Jackson gave the Blues the lead, converting a right-footed shot from inside the box after a well-placed assist from Enzo Fernández.

Despite Chelsea’s early dominance, Leicester pushed back in the second half, creating several chances to equalize. However, Chelsea’s defense held firm until the 75th minute, when Enzo Fernández doubled the lead with a header from close range, following a cross from Marc Cucurella.

Leicester found some late hope in the 90+5 minute when Jordan Ayew converted a penalty, awarded after a foul in the penalty area by Chelsea’s Roméo Lavia. However, despite the dramatic finish, Leicester was unable to find another goal, and Chelsea held on for the win.

Chelsea made several substitutions to maintain their lead, with Jadon Sancho replacing Noni Madueke in the 85th minute, and Roméo Lavia coming on for Moisés Caicedo earlier in the match. Leicester made changes of their own, with Patson Daka and Bobby De Cordova-Reid coming on in an effort to turn the tide.

The match was marked by a series of yellow cards for both sides, including for Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi, Boubakary Soumaré, and Wout Faes, as well as Chelsea’s Moisés Caicedo and Robert Sánchez.

Chelsea now sits firmly in the top four of the Premier League, with Leicester continuing to struggle in mid-table. The game ends with a final score of Leicester City 1, Chelsea 2.
