Nigerian Monarch Dies After 91 Years On The Throne
Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa, the Sarkin Beli (Village Head of Beli) in Shira Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has passed away at the age of 111.
The traditional ruler, who ascended the throne in 1933 at just 19 years old, died at the Federal Medical Centre in Azare.
Having served his community for an unprecedented 91 years, the late traditional ruler was a symbol of peace and stability. Known for his wisdom and dedication, he witnessed the reigns of four first-class Emirs of Katagum, with whom he shared a close working relationship throughout his decades-long service.
During his lifetime, the late monarch was celebrated for his humility and efforts to foster harmony within his community. Many residents described him as a ruler with listening ears, committed to ensuring peace and development.
The Chief Imam of Beli, Liman Musa Abubakar, confirmed the news of his passing and expressed deep sorrow over the loss, calling it a monumental tragedy for the people of Bauchi and Northern Nigeria.
