TCN Announces Power Outage In Delta

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled power outage in some areas of Delta State to carry out maintenance on the 132-kilovolt Ughelli-Oghara line.

The power interruption will take place from Tuesday, November 26, to Wednesday, November 27, 2024, according to a statement released by TCN on Tuesday.

During this period, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (Benin DisCo) will be unable to supply electricity to areas including Adeje, Industrial, Mosogar, Woodland, Sapele, and Abraka. In addition, power will be unavailable in Otowodo/Pantani, Agbarho/Eku, and Ughelli/Shell areas due to planned repairs at the 132/33kV Delta Transmission Substation.

The planned maintenance includes replacing a faulty secondary circuit breaker on a 60 megavolt-amperes (MVA) power transformer. TCN will also perform trace maintenance on Towers 172 and 173 and carry out vegetation management along the 132kV Ughelli-Oghara line.

The power outage will occur daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on November 26 and 27. TCN emphasized that the power supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance is completed. The company also assured that these regular maintenance activities are essential to ensure the optimal performance of its equipment.
