Ondo APC PDP Defectors

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogbagi Akoko Ward Six, Ondo State, have voiced their strong opposition to the acceptance of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The defectors, led by Bobade Gboyega, popularly known as “Danger,” were reportedly accepted into the APC without proper authorization, causing unrest within the party.

The APC members described the decision to welcome the PDP defectors as “unacceptable, null, and void.” They accused some local party leaders of deceiving them into allowing Bobade’s integration, which they now firmly reject.

The controversy surfaced during a visit by Honourable Bode Obanla, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Community Engagement for Ondo North. Obanla’s visit was part of a reconciliation mission in the Ondo North Senatorial District.

In addition to addressing the issue of the defectors, Obanla also spoke about the recent attack on Hon. Eli Awe, Director General of the Aiyedatiwa Campaign for Akoko North West Local Government. He assured party members that the incident would be thoroughly investigated and not ignored.

Reassuring the members, Obanla emphasized Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to peace and justice within the party. “The door to APC as a party is open to all and sundry, but not to perpetrators of dastardly acts trying to use decamping to evade punishment,” he said.

He further stressed that those responsible for any wrongdoing would be held accountable. “These culprits must be brought to book, and the full weight of the law must be allowed to take its toll on them to serve as a deterrent to others.”

Obanla urged calm among party members, promising that the controversies caused by the acceptance of the PDP defectors would be resolved.
