Wizkid Insulted My Father And Mother, Skales Opens Up On Rift
Nigerian artist Skales has shed light on his troubled relationship with fellow singer and former record label mate, Wizkid, claiming that the global icon never liked him.
Speaking on the “Listen” podcast, Skales, known for his hit song ‘Shake Body’, shared his experience of feeling a “repelling energy” from Wizkid over the years.
Recalling a public fallout on social media years ago, Skales explained how it all began with a seemingly harmless joke. “Somebody asked, ‘What’s up with your guy Wiz?’ And I jokingly said, ‘My brother Wiz does not have my time anymore.’ From there, Wizkid started insulting me, my father, and my mother,” he revealed.
The situation escalated when Wizkid allegedly accused Skales of wearing fake jewelry. Skales mentioned that his ex-girlfriend stepped in at the time to respond on his behalf. He also reflected on how the incident shaped public opinion against him. “People would say I’m jealous or envious of Wizkid’s success. That was the narrative going around,” Skales said, expressing frustration at being misunderstood.
Despite the tension, Skales disclosed that he had made attempts to mend their relationship but was met with resistance. “I have tried to make peace with him, but he was adamant. He doesn’t like me, I can tell you for a fact,” Skales stated.
The singer’s candid revelations highlight the complex dynamics between the two artistes, offering insight into a strained relationship that has drawn public attention for years.
