Bro Gbile Harps On God’s Timing At 2024 MLR
By Mary Aziken
Bible teacher Bro Gbile Akanni on the second day of the ongoing Ministers Leadership Retreat, MLR charged Christians to be more conscious of the timing of God and His agenda for mankind.
In the morning charge of Day 2 of the 2024 MLR, Bro Gbile gave testimony of how God in His own time led his ministry to break the annual meetings hitherto held in Gboko, Nigeria into different centres across the world.
GWG.ng reports the the 2024 MLR is taking place in different centres across several cities in different continents with Bro Gbile and other ministers in the Peace House team coordinating.
Drawing from Galatians 4:4 that says “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,” the bible teacher said that it was only when the time scheduled by God for Jesus to be born that the Messiah came forth.
He affirmed that at that time that God moved events in the world including the conduct of a census in the Roman empire to achieve the plan for the birth of the messiah.
Bro Gbile said that the birth of John, popularly known as The Baptist was part of God’s plan saying that John the Baptist had to be born six months ahead of Jesus for him to be a forerunner.
Quoting Jesus in John 4:34-38 on the matter of souls of men, Bro Gbile affirmed that there is a time for sowing and another time for reaping noting that God points men to the work they should do.
Pressing more on timing, he observed how the Holy Ghost was manifested when the day of Pentecost was FULLY COME.
He said that there was a time set for the Holy Ghost to come and He had to come at that particular time.
Bro Gbile said he learnt as a Christian quite early not to rush against the timing of God following his understanding of Romans 9:16 that “it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”
Noting how the MLR has been decentralised across major centers across the continents, he said of how God began to speak to his team at the 2019 Ministers Leading Refreshing Training, MILERT in South Africa that the Peace House meetings would be decentralised.
He added that the injunction was further pressed home at that year’s Summit of the Nations.
“Once the time of harvest is come there has to be an immediacy in our response,” Bro Gbile said in enjoining the faithful to be alert to the plans of God.
“Know the importance of the season you are in. If you don’t know you are likely to be wasting your time,” Bro Gbile said as he led the brethren to pray in not being oblivious to the timing of God concerning them.
GWG.ng reports that the MLR is holding in 36 centres in the Abuja area.
