Governor Effects Surprising Cabinet Reshuffle
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has implemented a significant cabinet reshuffle, introducing a new commissioner and reallocating key portfolios to enhance governance in the state
The cabinet reshuffle was announced following a State Executive Council meeting held on Monday, in Gusau, Zamfara State.
Kasimu Sani Kaura was sworn in as the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, replacing Mahmud Mohammed Abdullahi in a move that was conveyed as part of the governor’s strategic effort to optimize the performance of his administration.
The reshuffle also resulted in Nasiru Ibrahim Zurmi being appointed Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, succeeding Kabiru Moyi, who now assumes the role of overseeing Project Monitoring and Implementation.
In other key changes, Dr. Nafisa Muhammad was reassigned to the Ministry of Health, while Dr. Aisha M. Za Anka now leads the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
Governor Lawal emphasized the importance of efficiency and accountability among his appointees and directed all outgoing officials to complete their handover processes within seven days.
