May Edochie Threatens Popular Comedian Over Lesbian Claims
May Edochie, estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has issued a pre-action notice against comedian Chidi Uzoma, popularly known as Baba De Baba, over claims that she is a lesbian among other allegedly defamatory statements made about her on Facebook.
Through her legal representative, May Edochie accused Baba De Baba of publishing the false lesbian claims intended to damage her reputation.
Among the allegations highlighted in the notice, Baba De Baba reportedly stated that May preferred women in private relationships, traveled to Ghana with female friends to engage in sexual activities with men, and alleged that she was HIV positive.
May Edochie’s legal team categorically refuted these allegations, describing them as baseless and defamatory. The pre-action notice, dated December 13, 2024, demands that Baba De Baba immediately retract the statements and issue a public apology. The comedian has also been warned to desist from making further defamatory comments.
Failure to comply with these demands may result in a full-blown lawsuit, as May Edochie seeks to protect her image and hold Baba De Baba accountable for the harm caused to her reputation.
GWG.ng reports that the insinuations about her being a lesbian follow the romantic outing May Edochie had with comedian AY that has sparked rumours about a relationship about the duo who are both presently estranged from their spouses.
