APC: Away With Rumours About Mutfwang
By Ahmed Yusuf
The English man says “nothing succeeds like success”. In Nigeria’s emerging democracy and subsisting politics, the foregoing is also the inevitable and enviable story of the capacity and resourceful Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
His success story is fast becoming a transcendental and catch-all phenomenon – even a unique selling point or proposition which other political parties seek to service and revamp their electoral and electable prowess and value.
For the umpteenth time, the All Progressives Congress, APC, is at it again! There is no gainsaying that within his short tenure as governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has been outstanding, stellar, and exemplary in his uncommon leadership style; to the extent that he has become the gauge of good leadership and a standard of political carriage for other political parties.
For the All Progressives Congress, APC, in particular, it has become a perpetual practice – even a seeming way of surviving political austerity and unsellable times – to drop the name of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s star governor and mercurial influencer, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, as its ‘new-catch’, and reason why Nigerians should accept the APC and vote for it.
There can be no better proof that the APC, in spite of its speculated spread and access to political power in Nigeria, is already forlorn, desperate, and at the nadir of hope, to the extent that it’s always groping and straddling at every available or conceivable straw to gain momentum in the electorates’ range and rating of political parties in Nigeria.
Ahead of its dismal and appalling outing in the recent gubernatorial election in Edo State, the highest point of the APC’s electioneering creativity was to hoodwink the public by forging an alliance and association with the charming charisma and amiable personality of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to woo the people of Edo State to trust it with their votes during the recent election there.
When that ploy was deflated almost instantaneously, the APC resorted to bad conscience and the shamelessness of fetching from underhand tactics and power brigandage to beat popular rejection in that poll.
And it is Edo again! And it is the hard earned political carriage of Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State that the APC is seeking to market its politically insipid and untoward event proposed to hold in Edo State.
Thus, the APC has resorted to its familiar practice and commonplace tactics of framing the Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to market its proposed outing and gain undeserved global attention by claiming that the Plateau State Governor – loved and valued by his people like no other, has “dumped” the PDP in favour of the APC with all the dizzying and whirling sensations it is manifesting in its body chemistry.
Although this claim is not worthier than any other desperate concoction from the Dark Alley, even the desperados in the pit of hell appreciate Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s ascending leadership odyssey in recent times, and why they want to fetch from where they did not sow.
As the Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang is fast transforming the State to a global destination for investments and meaningful living.
By providing exemplary leadership, he has entrenched the values of unity, love, selfless service, tolerance, respect of individual and cultural differences in conducting public affairs and day-to-day governance.
With him, the interface between the past and the present are canonical to forge on with the objective of attaining the development aspirations of the people. Thus, like never before, he has brought together all the past leaders and illustrious sons and daughters of the State in the principle that the struggle continues and only in unity will Plateau State endure and actualize its destiny.
It is in the same spirit that he recently achieved the imperative of bringing two foremost past leaders of the country, Generals Yakubu Gowon and Olusegun Obasanjo (retired), together, in a solemn meet to reflect on Nigeria yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
And it is to his credit that the two leaders admitted and announced to the world that Mutfwang’s leadership style has brought love and justice to the public space.
As the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in the North Central region of the country, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has worked very hard, and has achieved immensely in resolving the leadership crisis of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He has no plan to “dump” the Party; and he cannot abandon it. It is obvious that the APC is hell-bent on distracting Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang from continuing with his good works, and turn him against his loveable and respectable people.
The task of going ahead to build a prosperous and equitable Nigeria is enormous. The APC can do better than peddling rumours as a pastime. Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang is, and remains in the PDP!
