Tonto Dikeh Warns On New Scam

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has raised the alarm about a new scam targeting unsuspecting individuals in public places.

In an Instagram post, she detailed the deceptive scheme where a scammer falsely accuses someone of making a fake bank transfer after a purchase.

The scammer typically creates a dramatic scene, crying and wailing to attract attention, which pressures the accused into resolving the issue immediately. Tonto warned that such situations could lead to serious consequences, including public embarrassment, wasted time, loss of property, or even harm from a potential mob before help arrives.

“New scam alert! Beware: Someone could approach you in public, crying and wailing, accusing you of making a fake transfer for something you allegedly bought. A crowd gathers, tensions rise, and you’re forced to either pay up or risk jungle justice,” she explained.

The actress advised the public to remain vigilant and take precautions to avoid falling victim to this tactic, adding, “Stay vigilant and stay safe because outside is wild these days.”

GWG.ng reports that Tonto Dikeh was, however, mum on how she got to know about the scam or whether she was a victim of the perpetrators of the staged actions.
