Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman, Zambia’s Barbra Banda, and South Africa’s Ronwen Williams emerged as the biggest winners at the 2024 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards held in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday night.

The prestigious ceremony celebrated the finest talents in African football over the past year.

Lookman, who plays for Italian club Atalanta, clinched the CAF Player of the Year (Men) award following an impressive season marked by standout performances. Meanwhile, Zambia’s Barbra Banda, representing Orlando Pride, was crowned the CAF Player of the Year (Women), solidifying her status as one of the continent’s brightest stars.

Ronwen Williams, Mamelodi Sundowns’ goalkeeper, claimed two major accolades on the night—CAF Goalkeeper of the Year (Men) and CAF Interclub Player of the Year (Men)—rewarding his exceptional efforts for both club and country.

Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie, who has been exceptional for Paris FC, took home the CAF Goalkeeper of the Year (Women) award, while Senegal’s rising star, Lamine Camara, was named CAF Young Player of the Year (Men).

The ceremony also honoured Morocco’s Doha El Madani as the CAF Young Player of the Year (Women), while Cote d’Ivoire’s Emerse Fae was recognized as the CAF Coach of the Year (Men) after guiding the national team to remarkable achievements.
