Tinubu appoints eight new permanent secretaries

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed eight new permanent secretaries in the federal civil service to address existing and upcoming vacancies across various states and geopolitical zones.

According to a statement released on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the appointments were made following recommendations from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation after a thorough selection process.

The statement highlighted that this is the second batch of permanent secretaries appointed by President Tinubu, following an earlier set announced in June. Those previous appointments were from Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Jigawa, Ondo, Zamfara, and the South-East and South-South regions.

The new permanent secretaries include:

1.Onwusoro Maduka Ihemelandu (Abia State)

2. Ndiomu Ebiogeh Philip (Bayelsa State)

3. Anuma Ogbonnaya Nlia (Ebonyi State)

4. Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam (Enugu State)

5. Kalba Danjuma Usman (Gombe State)

6. Usman Salihu Aminu (Kebbi State)

7. Oyekunle Patience Nwakuso (Rivers State)

8. Nadungu Gagare (Kaduna State)

President Tinubu called on the newly appointed permanent secretaries to serve with greater dedication, creativity, and efficiency. He urged them to prioritize innovation and diligence in their roles to contribute effectively to the nation’s development.

In the statement, Onanuga emphasized, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed eight permanent secretaries in the federal civil service to fill existing and impending vacancies in some states and geopolitical zones.”

The President’s directive reflects his administration’s commitment to ensuring that critical positions in the civil service are filled with competent individuals ready to serve Nigeria at the highest level.
