How Man Lured Nigerian Lady, Killed Her For Ritual
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old man, Taiwo Yemitan, for possessing a human head and other dismembered body parts belonging to a woman identified as Darasimi.
According to the police, Taiwo Yemitan lured the victim to his residence in the Lafenwa area of Abeokuta, where the crime took place. Local security groups, including the Agbekoya and Vigilante operatives, provided the tip-off that led to his arrest around 1:40 am on Sunday.
Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident, stating, “The suspect admitted to knowing the deceased, Darasimi, whom he lured to his residence with the intent to kill her.”
Odutola further revealed that Taiwo Yemitan confessed to the crime and implicated two accomplices, Kehinde Yemitan and one Kazeem, whose whereabouts are currently unknown. “Their intention was to sell the victim’s head and other body parts,” she added.
The victim’s remains have been deposited at the State General Hospital in Ijaye, Abeokuta, for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the suspect will be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation. Efforts are ongoing to locate the accomplices and the victim’s family.
Odutola also highlighted a similar case earlier this year involving a suspect, Azeez Adebayo, who confessed to luring and killing three women using an online hookup platform called “My Chat.” She warned young women to exercise caution when using online dating services, urging them to prioritize their safety and make informed choices when interacting on social media.
