The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his bold and inspiring leadership.

In his Christmas message to Nigerians, Olukoyede noted that the president’s strong political will has been a key factor in the success of the EFCC over the past 18 months.

Olukoyede emphasized that the values of light, joy, hope, truth, and liberty that Christ brought to the world are important in fostering a zero-tolerance approach to corruption and driving reforms. He expressed optimism for a brighter future for Nigeria, free from economic and financial crimes.

He said, “I truly believe in our nation’s potential for growth and development. The Christmas season is a chance to activate these possibilities. The values Christ brought—light, joy, hope, truth, and liberty—are important paths to integrity and fighting corruption. By embracing these values, we can make Nigeria greater.”

He also praised President Tinubu for his commitment to fighting corruption, stating, “Nigerians can see clearly that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is determined to tackle corruption in our society. The progress made by the EFCC would not have been possible without his constant support and courage.”

Olukoyede further acknowledged the role of the judiciary, commending the professionalism, commitment, integrity, and courage of judges, which have strengthened the EFCC’s anti-corruption efforts. He urged the judiciary to continue its work towards justice and fairness.

The EFCC chairman also expressed gratitude to the media, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders for their ongoing support and collaboration with the commission. He assured that with their continued partnership, the EFCC would achieve even greater success in the coming year.
