Adeniyi Johnson Seeks Clemency For Naomi
Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has urged the authorities to be lenient in handling the case of Naomi Silekunola, the ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife, following the stampede that led to many deaths at a Christmas charity event she organized.
Naomi had planned an event where a stampede occurred, resulting in the deaths of over 30 children. The police later detained Naomi and others in connection with the incident.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Adeniyi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and offered prayers for Naomi. He recognized her good intentions and charitable nature, emphasizing that she never meant to harm anyone.
Adeniyi also praised the people of Ondo State for their generosity, saying Naomi’s actions reflected the compassionate values of the community. He continued, “First and foremost, condolences to the families of the lost ones; no family deserves this kind of pain. I pray the good Lord gives you the fortitude to bear the loss and comfort the family!! Amen.”
He added, “My heart and prayers go to @queen_silekunolanaomi_ogunwusi, whose intentions were not to hurt or kill but to give and feed!! This time, too, shall pass, and the God of your good deeds will speak for you, restore you, and bring you back stronger!!!”
The actor concluded by appealing to the authorities, urging them to show mercy and consider the tragic nature of the event. “I know for a fact that the law must be upheld, but we beseech the authorities to temper justice with mercy and look beyond the tragic incident! GOD BLESS NIGERIA,” he wrote.
