NiMet Predicts Dust Haze Across Nigeria For Three Days
The Meteorological Agency has warned of dusty weather conditions across various parts of the country, lasting three days from Thursday to Saturday. According to the agency, the northern region will experience slight dust haze with good visibility throughout this period.
For the central parts, similar conditions of slight dust haze with good visibility are expected. Meanwhile, the southern regions will face moderate dust haze, with visibility ranging between 2 to 5 kilometers. Coastal areas may see early morning fog or mist before the dust haze takes over during the afternoon and evening.
On Friday, the northern regions will continue to experience moderate dust haze with visibility of 2 to 5 kilometers. The central region will have similar weather conditions, while coastal areas may see fog or mist in the morning, followed by slight dust haze later in the day.
The agency issued health warnings, advising people with respiratory issues, including asthma, to take precautions due to the dusty air. They also recommended that the public adhere to safety guidelines and stay updated with official weather advisories.
Airline operators were urged to obtain specific weather reports to ensure safe and efficient operations during this period. The agency emphasized the importance of staying informed through reliable updates to navigate the expected weather conditions safely.
